Special Project Commemorating the 110th Anniversary of the Birth of the Great Master Richter
■ This complete recording of Bach's "Well-Tempered Clavier" is one of the most important recordings of the vast collection of recordings by Sviatoslav Richter (1915-1987), known as the "giant of the 20th century piano." Recorded over three years, from 1970 to 1973, on a Bösendorfer piano—a rare achievement for Richter—this performance is both elegant and profoundly profound, revealing the infinite possibilities of the piano as an instrument. ■ This classic recording was released by various record companies in different countries throughout the LP and CD eras, but the original was recorded in Salzburg and Vienna by producers and engineers at Eurodisc, Germany. This world-first, Japan-only release features a single-layer SA-CD based on a carefully restored, DSD-remastered version of the spliced two-channel original analog master, inherited and archived by Sonopress GmbH in Germany, in 2012.

This classic recording was released by various record companies in different countries throughout the LP and CD eras, but the original was recorded in Salzburg and Vienna by producers and engineers at Eurodisc GmbH. The original spliced two-channel analog master, inherited and stored by German company Sonopress in 2012, was meticulously restored and remastered in DSD for the world's first SA-CD single layer release, available exclusively in Japan.
