When brewed, Koimaro Tea has a beautiful deep green color, yet a mellow, not bitter taste. This is the characteristic of Koimaro Tea, a rich, mellow Japanese tea. Hoping to make Japanese tea more delicious and easier to drink, we first conducted a survey of our customers about their ideal Japanese tea.
The results showed that 75% of respondents said Japanese tea should be dark green, and 71% said Japanese tea should be rich and mellow! Our customers' ideal Japanese tea is rich and mellow. This is how the development of Koimaro Tea began. However, making Japanese tea darker results in a bitter taste, while making it mellower results in a lighter color. After three years of trial and error, we finally arrived at the Japanese tea that our customers desire: a deep-colored, mellow-tasting tea.
We use 100% first-grade tea leaves. The fragrant young steamed sencha, the rich taste and color of the deep steamed sencha, and the appealing umami and deep richness of the gyokuro. These three distinct flavors are skillfully harmonized and exquisitely blended with high-quality Uji matcha to bring out the best in each. This brings out the best in the ingredients, resulting in an elegant mouthfeel and vibrant green color. It's truly the ideal flavor: strong yet mellow without being bitter.
