■ This latest album is a surprise release, less than a year after her previous album, "Lover," which reached number one in the US and UK charts.
Regarding this impromptu release, Taylor commented, "Most of the things I had planned this summer ultimately didn't happen.
But one thing I hadn't planned on doing was happening: my eighth studio album, "Folklore."
Until this year, I think I was overthinking the perfect timing to release new music. But now, with a renewed realization that we live in a time where nothing is guaranteed, I truly felt that if I had created something I loved, I should just get it out there."
■Produced by Aaron Dessner (The National) and Jack Antonoff, with a guest appearance by Bon Iver.
■Includes her latest single, "Cardigan." The music video for "Cardigan" was filmed under the guidance of a medical examiner, with everyone wearing masks and maintaining social distancing, and Taylor even did her own hair, makeup, and styling.
