Amazon Review
This soundtrack from Steven Soderbergh (Oscar-winning director for "Traffic") is generating buzz with its star-studded cast, including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Julia Roberts.
Enjoy stylish analog-inspired sounds, including a jazzy instrumental by charismatic techno DJ David Holmes (<2), a cool hip-hop tune featuring De La Soul's Turgoy and Del from Del the Funky Homosapien (<3), and Elvis Presley's 1968 hit (<12). (Takemura Kiyoko)
Media Reviews and More
Soderbergh, who has been shooting nonstop lately, has released his latest film, a remake of Sinatra's thrilling "Ocean's 11." The music is by David Holmes, the DJ who also worked with him on "Out of Sight," and the tracklist is quite cool, featuring acid and lounge sounds. Unfortunately, some soundtrack fans dislike the music overlapping with dialogue... (though, as expected, the insert songs, including classics by Elvis, Perry Como, and Quincy Jones, are not.) Still, overall, it's a tastefully put together, good album. (Madoka Takenouchi) --- February 2002 Issue -- Contents (From "CD Journal Review")
