A stick-type microphone that faithfully reproduces even the sharp sound of standing up. Equipped with a 1/2 inch compact and lightweight diaphragm, it achieves excellent transient characteristics. A low noise transformerless circuit is used to achieve natural sound quality and a wide dynamic range. The directional characteristics are carefully controlled cardioids, and the target sound is reliably picked up. Equipped with a 20 dB pad, it can clearly capture sound sources with high sound pressure.

Project Studio Line inherits the excellent sonic performance of AKG microphones, which are commonly used in recording studios around the world. We generously introduced our unique microphone development technology, which has given birth to numerous famous machines such as the C414 and C451, and like the higher-level models, we have achieved an extremely musical sound that reliably captures even the warmth of the sound source. Parts for each part, such as a high-quality diaphragm and a low-noise transformerless circuit, have also been carefully selected, and excellent sound quality that exceeds its class has been obtained. Even the minute nuances of the sound source are fully reproduced. Furthermore, the maximum sound pressure level is 135 dB (P120 is 130 dB), and it is also equipped with a 20 dB pad, so sound can be collected with clear sound without distortion even with high sound pressure sources. Project Studio Line has thorough noise countermeasures, so good quality recordings can be performed even in harsh environments. The housing is made of all-metal, which suppresses the effects of radio interference caused by mobile phones and wireless systems and prevents noise from being generated. It is also equipped with a low-cut filter (excluding the P170), which can suppress external noise caused by air conditioning system noise, floor vibration, wind, etc. Furthermore, since the carefully controlled directional characteristics of the cardioid also reduce background noise, only the target sound can be clearly captured (multiple directional characteristics can be selected for the P820 TUBE and P420). Additionally, the P820 TUBE, P420, and P220 come with a holder with a suspension to protect the microphone from vibrations to minimize the impact of floor noise. Project Studio Line is reliable and works well even on the toughest live stages. Gold is evaporated on only one side of the diaphragm, preventing short electrodes even when the diaphragm comes into contact with the back plate due to high sound pressure. It is also equipped with a sturdy front grille to protect the inside of the microphone from rough handling on stage. Furthermore, the gold-plated XLR connectors have excellent resistance to temperature and humidity, and can also prevent deterioration in sound quality due to aging.
