The TA-TS30UN is a newly developed turntable mat designed to bring you closer to the optimal conditions for record playback. One of the most important things to consider when playing records is dust removal. Electrical charge on the record attracts dust from the air, causing crackling noises during playback. Wiping dust off records with a record cleaner is one of the ritualistic pleasures of playing records, but trying to wipe it off forcefully can scratch the record, or dust that is not wiped off can get deep into the grooves during playback, potentially worsening the condition of the record. Therefore, it is important to prevent the record itself from becoming electrically charged and to remove dust gently. Normally, materials that prioritize vibration absorption performance, such as silicone rubber, felt, and cork, are used, but we believe that the top priority for a turntable mat should be static electricity countermeasures, and after comparing various materials, we focused on "washi" (Japanese paper), which is less prone to static charge and has a high design quality. The "Unryu Paper" used in the TA-TS30UN-BW is characterized by its unique fiber pattern and is made by skilled washi (Japanese paper) craftsmen. To maximize the characteristics of this washi, a synthetic paper called stone paper, mainly composed of calcium carbonate, is used as the core, providing sufficient weight and resistance to warping. By laminating washi to both sides of this core, the requirements that would be insufficient for washi alone as a turntable mat have been met. The TA-TS30UN is not only uniquely beautiful but also superior in functionality, suppressing static electricity to prevent dust from adhering to records and ensuring comfortable record playback.
