Material: Boxwood / Dimensions: Height 7cm x Width 3.7cm x Depth 1.6cm / Weight: 20g
Acala is the messenger of Dainichi Nyorai, who uses his authority to lead evil people who cannot be guided by the true teachings to Buddhism. His face expresses a wrathful expression, but this is not simply an expression of anger; rather, he is a figure that serves as a means to guide sentient beings who are difficult to teach, and he removes our troubled minds and destroys all disasters.
Use it as a room decoration or car ornament. Also makes a great gift for friends, parents, or anyone.
Body material: Boxwood. Boxwood takes a long time to grow, and has a fine, dense grain and a diffuse-porous wood with evenly distributed vessels, giving it a beautiful yellowish hue.
*Please note that due to the hand-carved finish, each piece may have slightly different finishes, wood grain, and dimensions.
[Acala] Afloat, affectionately known to the common people as "O-Fudo-san," is said to have originally derived from the Hindu god Shiva, the god of destruction and salvation, and to be the deification of the monsoon (storm). He holds a sword in his right hand and a lasso in his left. The sword symbolizes the sharpened wisdom of Dainichi Nyorai, and the lasso binds worldly desires. There are both seated and standing statues, and they are typically depicted perched on a rock pedestal with a flaming halo behind them. Acala is the most popular of the Myo-o, as he is the most important disciple of Dainichi Nyorai, the supreme deity in Esoteric Buddhism, and is the central figure of the Myo-o. He is worshipped with great devotion, drawing prayers for family safety, business prosperity, and traffic safety. He represents the immovable venerable being, and appears with a fearsome appearance to save those sentient beings who are difficult for the Buddha to convert. It is said that this Buddha will protect you from all disasters and hardships and from accidents and calamities.
