Mastering Notes
The vinyl was cut using the original master tapes. The process involved using only analog signal paths, constantly referencing the sound of the earliest pressings of the original albums. This vinyl record was produced using a Studer A80 master recorder with analog preview/program pass functionality and a Neumann VMS70 cutting machine, installed at Capitol Studios in 1971. Using analog equipment throughout the entire cutting process ensures a faithful reproduction of the tonal range and dynamics recorded on the original tape.
