★The third installment in Eternal Grooves' Beatles BBC Live series!
This third installment in the series featuring The Beatles' "lost BBC radio session recordings" is here, featuring a whopping 26 completely unreleased takes!
The Beatles' BBC performances can be broadly divided into "POP GO BEATLES" and "FROM US TO YOU," but this third volume is primarily composed of recordings from their "SATURDAY CLUB" appearance. Starting with the jazz theme music that opens the "SATURDAY CLUB" program,
the set continues with a string of rare Beatles studio live recordings.
In addition to the high-quality master recordings that were well-received in Volumes 1 and 2, this release features "Dream Baby" from their BBC debut (broadcast on March 8, 1963), which, while the sound quality is a step down,
is never before available outside of bootlegs!
Also included is the previously unreleased BBC live performance of "Say It's a Wonderful Dance,"
and Paul's "One, Two, Three, Four!" count is exceptionally cool on their debut album.
"I Saw Her Standing There" begins with a quirky count that's likely John,
and throughout the song, John's distant roar can be heard, creating a lively take.
Two tracks, "Love Me Do" and "Please Please Me," are also included from the "EASY BEAT" program, a rare BBC recording featuring an inviting audience. There's also the rare "Crimble Medley," in which the Beatles sing the titles of their own songs one after another over the melody.
As Ringo sings "I Want to Be Your Boyfriend," the Beatles can't help but scream and shout.
At such a young and energetic age, in the acoustically blessed environment of BBC Studios,
the four Beatles worked enthusiastically on this BBC session, experimenting with different guitar phrases even for the same songs.
Experience these treasured recordings that nurtured their musical leap forward.
