Eternal Grooves presents an ambitious project: compiling every recording of The Beatles' entire career.
This series thoroughly traces the band's journey in chronological order, using official studio recordings, including outtakes and unreleased songs.
Beginning with "That'll Be The Day" in July 1958, the series continues with the Polydor sessions in 1961, and covers the band's failed Decca audition on New Year's Day 1962, through their first recordings for EMI in June, and covers the band's early days as they strived for their debut.
While touring Hamburg, they served as the backing band for Tony Sheridan, who was playing at the same club, on his Polydor recording, and "My Bonnie" became a No. 5 hit in Germany.
T. Sheridan's backing band was named the "Beat Brothers," and in past releases, recordings with members other than The Beatles were billed as "pre-Beatles performances!", causing some confusion. However, after careful examination, this release contains only The Beatles' performances.
John's singing of "Ain't She Sweet" can be said to be a genuine Beatles performance.
"My Bonnie" led to The Beatles' audition for Decca on New Year's Day 1962, managed by Brian Epstein, owner of the Liverpool record store "NEMS," but they were surprisingly rejected. However, this is a classic pre-debut recording that still shines today.
All 15 tracks are included here in stereo master form.
The recording that doubled as an audition for EMI left behind "Love Me Do" and "Besame Mucho" with Pete Best on drums. It was at this point that they decided to make a lineup change.
Ringo Starr joined the band, and Granada TV filmed "Some Other Guy" from the Cavern Club live show, but Paul's vocals were not picked up and it had to be re-recorded at a later date.
This is the black-and-white footage of them in white shirts and vests that we have seen so many times on TV and in the news.
In September 1962, recording took place for the single "Love Me Do" featuring Ringo. George Martin's version of "How Do You Do It" was also recorded, but had to be re-recorded again.
This is a rich audio compilation that follows The Beatles' journey towards their debut with EMI.
After days of busy live performances with John, Paul, George, and Pete Best (drums), Ringo joined the band.
The young Beatles' energetic and raw performances are unique to this period.
This is the first volume of this ultimate series, full of that energy.
