Introduction
Resurrected: Bob Marley & The Wailers' Miraculous Vaults Series 1
Shortly after releasing their international debut, "Catch a Fire," the band embarked on a US tour in 1973, but ended up outselling headliner Sly & the Family Stone,
causing them to be dropped from the tour. The young Jamaican lions then performed a legendary show at the Matrix in San Francisco, which became a replacement venue.
This album features studio jams from the Matrix concert, which was widely discussed in Marley's autobiography and other publications, and was unknown until P-Vine released it on CD in 2005.
With a powerhouse lineup including Bob Marley (vocals/guitar), Peter Tosh (vocals/guitar), Joe Higgs (percussion), Earl Lind (keyboards/drums), Familyman Barrett (bass), and Carlton Barrett (drums),
they deliver a reggae—or rather, rock—spirit that truly defines the Trenchtown Experience. Tracks like "Star It Up," which once brimmed with a sweet rocksteady vibe, transform into fiery rock that ignites in live performances. This is a miraculous reissue of a world-premiere recording.
