Product Introduction
Fine Molds 1/350 Ship Series Imperial Navy Destroyer Akebono Plastic Model FW4
The Akebono was the 18th ship of the Special Type Destroyers (Fubuki-class) (the 8th of the Special Type II) that shocked the world.
Since its commissioning in 1931, the Akebono participated in the First Shanghai Incident, the Hangzhou Bay Landing Operation during the Second Sino-Japanese War, and numerous other battles during World War II, including the Battle of the Java Sea, the Battle of the Coral Sea, and the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
This battle-hardened Akebono is recreated in its 1944 appearance with numerous additional anti-aircraft machine guns.
The Akebono's distinctive bowl-shaped air intake/machine gun mount at the base of the second funnel has also been recreated using a new mold.
