Yuzuru Hanyu “notte stellata” Blu-ray

This March, Yuzuru Hanyu's first ice show since turning professional, "Hanyu Yuzuru notte stellata," was held in his hometown of Miyagi. Tickets sold out immediately, and the performance captivated audiences through streaming and live viewing. Now, a long-awaited DVD release has been announced. The main feature features performances by top skaters from Japan and abroad, including Jason Brown, Shaelyn Born-Tullock, and Satoko Miyahara. Don't miss his first collaboration with gymnastics legend Kohei Uchimura. Bonus features include multi-angle footage of Yuzuru Hanyu and Kohei Uchimura's "Conquest of Paradise," highlights from the March 10th and 12th performances, behind-the-scenes footage, and interviews with the performers.

The title "notte stellata" means "starry sky" in Italian. The name comes from Yuzuru Hanyu's own experience of looking up at the sky on his way to an evacuation shelter after the earthquake in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, on March 11, 2011. In the darkness of the blackout, he saw a sky full of stars that he normally couldn't see, and felt a ray of hope even amidst his feelings of despair.

The ice show "Yuzuru Hanyu notte stellata" was presented with the hope of "spreading hope, just like the starry sky that lit up the disaster-stricken areas, and bringing a smile to people's faces, even if just a little."

Production Information [MESSAGE] Notte Stellata means "starry sky" in Italian. March 11, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake. Yuzuru Hanyu was in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, when the earthquake struck. That night, he and his family headed to an evacuation shelter. Collapsed buildings, burst water pipes— On the way to the shelter, he saw his hometown completely transformed. In his despair, he looked up to the sky— and there, a sky full of shining stars. Due to the power outage caused by the earthquake, beautiful stars that are usually obscured by city lights shone brightly. Hanyu felt a "ray of hope" in the beautiful, shining sky— The title of this show is Notte Stellata. Like the starry sky that illuminated the disaster-stricken areas that day, he hopes to spread hope and bring a smile to people's faces.
