This is a 1/700 scale plastic model of the "Skywave Series Imperial Japanese Navy Special Type Destroyer Isonami" from Pit-Road.
The Washington Treaty placed restrictions on the construction and possession of capital ships, so the Imperial Japanese Navy sought to strengthen its fleet of light cruisers and smaller vessels, which were exempt from these restrictions.
Among the vessels designed and constructed for this purpose, the Special Type Destroyer combined extensive weight reduction achieved through the introduction of new technology with heavy armament, making a significant impact both domestically and internationally.
The Isonami was the ninth ship of the Special Type I destroyer, built at Uraga Dock, and participated in the Battle of Midway, transport operations in the South, and patrol missions.
This product includes two runners from the new equipment set NE07, "1/700 New WWII Imperial Japanese Navy Ship Equipment Set 7," allowing you to create a more accurate model.
